Somatic Nervous System Integration Guidance
Offering:
A body-based approach to awareness, Trauma-integration, and inner authority.
From Rooted Patterns to Embodied Choice -
Somatic Nervous System Integration Guidance and Coaching
Technique Overview
Somatic Inquiry & Integration brings together guided awareness, sensing, curiosity, and skilled verbal reflection to help clients meet their inner experience with greater steadiness and choice. Rather than analyzing from a distance or trying to force a breakthrough, this work invites you to notice what is happening in the body in real time — sensations, emotions, images, impulses, protective responses, breath, posture, and/or subtle shifts in presence.
A session may include:
-
guided inquiry,
-
body-based sensing,
-
tracking sensations and inner images,
-
pendulation between intensity and resource,
-
staying within a tolerable window of presence,
-
noticing protective patterns without judgment,
-
and discovering how the body organizes around stress, memory, relationship, or emotion.
This work is informed by several streams of practice, including biodynamic craniosacral therapy, pre- and perinatal healing, trauma-informed somatic work, sensing practices, and the verbal inquiry traditions I have studied. It is also been influenced by the understanding that early experiences — including birth, attachment, family dynamics, and moments of overwhelm — can leave imprints in the body that take various shapes and postures. Understanding them is the beginning of unwinding those shapes that might be keeping us in a narrowed version of life.
The approach is not about labeling these patterns as wrong. Instead, it recognizes them as intelligent adaptations that once helped the system manage something difficult or overwhelming. With careful pacing, curiosity, and present-time awareness, these patterns can begin to reveal their wisdom, soften their charge, and open into new possibilities.
My role is to help you stay close enough to your experience to learn from it, without becoming flooded or identified with it. This may involve gently moving between what feels difficult and what feels good (resourced), between sensation and spaciousness, between the wound and the deeper presence that can hold it.
This is not Somatic Experiencing™, talk therapy, or advice-based coaching, though it shares some common respect for pacing, regulation, and the body’s intelligence. My work is a synthesis: a guided, relational process that supports the development of a new toolset of sensing, trust in intuition, integration of trauma, inner authority, and a more compassionate relationship with whatever arises - both in session and more broadly.
At its heart, this work helps clients shift from being caught inside an experience to being able to meet it with presence. The intention is not to override the wound, but to listen through it — allowing the body’s deeper wisdom, choice, and inherent wholeness to come forward.
What This Work Supports
The Unique offering of Somatic Nervous System Integration Coaching
Somatic Inquiry & Integration is a guided process for learning how to meet inner experience with presence, curiosity, and choice. Rather than trying to fix, analyze, or override what arises, this work helps clients develop a more spacious relationship with sensations, emotions, memories, protective patterns, and subtle body signals.
At the heart of this approach is a non-pathologizing view of healing. The patterns we carry — guarding, collapse, vigilance, numbness, pleasing, emotional flooding, or withdrawal — are not treated as signs of brokenness. They are understood as intelligent responses to conditions that may once have felt too much, too fast, or too overwhelming to fully process.
Through sensing, inquiry, careful pacing, and skilled verbal guidance, I support clients in staying close enough to their experience to learn from it, while not becoming overwhelmed or identified with it. This creates the possibility of moving from being caught inside a wound to being in relationship with what the wound is revealing.
This work is influenced by biodynamic craniosacral principles, pre- and perinatal healing, trauma-informed somatic practice, sensory awareness, and the understanding that the body carries an underlying blueprint — a deeper intelligence beneath our adaptations that is embryological and has been with us since we were babies.
In this view, wounds are not obstacles to be erased; they can become doorways into essence, self-trust, and a more intimate contact with being.
The unique offering of this work is not simply regulation, relaxation, or insight. It is the practice of meeting what arises in a way that allows old imprints to soften, protective layers to reveal their wisdom, and the client’s own inner authority to come forward.
Frequently Asked Questions
... About Somatic Nervous System Integration Coaching
How is this different from regular nervous system or stress-tolerance coaching?
Many nervous system approaches focus on tools, education, or managing symptoms. This can be useful, but may not reach the deeper patterns beneath the response.
Our work together will include practical support while going further into sensing, inquiry, early imprints, protective patterns, and your relationship to what is arising now. Rather than overriding your experience, this work helps you listen with curiosity and care — offering a new language for honoring how your body has protected you while opening you to more choice, presence, and possibility. It's trauma-response awareness without giving too much space for the response to habituate any further.
This sounds similar to Somatic Experiencing™...
Is it comperable to S.E. work?
No. While this work shares a respect for pacing, body awareness, and trauma-informed presence, it is not Somatic Experiencing™.
My approach is informed in part by her certification in Blueprint Resonance©, a training developed by Anna Chitty, who was an early student of Peter Levine, the founder of Somatic Experiencing™. I studied directly with Anna and draw from this lineage in a way that emphasizes sensing, presence, early imprint awareness, and the body’s underlying blueprint for wholeness.
Blueprint Resonance©, however, can be understood as a related but distinct approach — one that shares certain trauma-informed insights with Somatic Experiencing™ while also bringing in a broader emphasis on pre- and perinatal experience, biodynamic principles, subtle body awareness, and embodied spiritual inquiry.
On this website, I use simpler language so the work is easier to understand from a potential client’s perspective. Rather than focusing on terminology or lineage, the emphasis is on what the work offers: a careful, compassionate process for meeting experience, integrating patterns, and returning to greater choice, presence, and inner authority.
What is the difference between "being with" an experience and "being" the experience?
When we are identified with an experience, it can feel like it is all of who we are: “I am anxious,” “I am broken,” “I am sad.” Being with an experience creates more space: “Something in me is anxious,” or “Sadness is here.” That shift can allow emotion, memory, or sensation to move without defining the whole self.
How many sessions will I need?
My commitment to this work is rooted in helping clients reconnect with their own authority and inner knowing. When ongoing support is recommended, it is offered with clarity and care as an option to support your process — never as pressure, dependency, or the expectation that you must continue indefinitely. That said, I am happy to make recommendations and offers packages for sequencing a series.
